Finance Ledger Manager

Kidlington/Office Based
A growing, specialist organisation within the aviation sector is looking to appoint a Finance Ledger Manager to oversee its Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. This is a hands-on role managing a small team and working closely with the wider finance department and stakeholders across the business.
Your new role
You’ll take ownership of the purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy, control, and timely processing while supporting strong cash flow and compliance in a regulated environment.
- Managing and overseeing AP and AR ledgers, ensuring balances are accurate and well-explained
- Overseeing payment runs and collections in line with agreed terms and cash flow targets
- Preparing and reviewing ledger reconciliations, including supplier, customer, and suspense accounts
- Producing aged payables/receivables reports and key ledger performance metrics
- Managing overdue and historic debt
- Ensuring compliance with contractual terms, taxes, duties, and regulatory requirements
- Line management and development of two ledger staff
- Supporting internal and external audit processes
- Maintaining compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience managing purchase and/or sales ledgers
- Strong attention to detail with a logical, inquisitive mindset
- Confident supervising and mentoring junior finance staff
- A collaborative team player within a small finance function
- Strong communication skills across finance and non-finance teams
- Competent user of Excel and Microsoft Office
